Reading a Reserve Snapshot Report
8 March 2025
A reserve snapshot report is a structured record of what was witnessed during your on-site visit. Understanding its sections helps you use it effectively for investor relations and audit support.
Cover and attestation
The first page states the client name, visit date, quarter covered, and the associate who conducted the verification. A signed attestation confirms that balances were witnessed on air-gapped devices without network connection during the visit.
Device inventory
Each hardware wallet included in the engagement is listed by model and serial number (if photographed or recorded). This inventory supports year-over-year tracking of your custody setup. If you added or retired a device since the prior quarter, the variance section will note the change.
Asset breakdown
Holdings are grouped by asset type (BTC, ETH, stablecoins, and others as applicable). Quantities reflect amounts displayed on device screens at the time of visit. Valuations use publicly available reference prices noted in the report footer, with the specific source and timestamp cited.
Quarter-on-quarter variance
Returning clients receive a comparison table showing changes from the prior quarter. Additions, distributions, and rebalancing appear as line items. Large unexplained variances may prompt a footnote if you provided context during the visit.
Limitations section
Every report includes a standard limitations paragraph: valuations are point-in-time, devices were not connected to networks, and the report does not constitute investment or tax advice. This section exists to set appropriate expectations for recipients who may not be familiar with cold-storage documentation.
Distribution guidance
Reports are delivered via encrypted email by default. You may forward them to limited partners, auditors, or advisers at your discretion. We do not distribute reports to third parties without your explicit instruction.
If you need a bilingual Korean-English version or a physical bound copy, request this when booking the engagement. Both formats are available at additional cost.
